About the Show
In Roald Dahl’s story “Lamb to the Slaughter,” a desperate housewife kills her husband by hitting him over the head with a frozen leg of lamb which she then cooks and serves to the police baffled as to the murder weapon. The means of murder in Ira Levin’s DEATHTRAP is equally ingenious. What it is and whether it works, I cannot disclose. I can say that DEATHTRAP is not only devilishly thrilling with heart-stopping moments but also deliciously ironic and funny. What else would you expect from the man who wrote both ROSEMARY’S BABY and the stage version of Mac Hyman’s comic novel NO TIME FOR SERGEANTS? One last hint: think carefully about the meaning of the title, DEATHTRAP.
